The Odisha Primary Teachers’ Association (Under New Pension Scheme) on Sunday announced that primary teachers would gherao the offices of the District Education Officers (DEOs) on March 20 and the State Assembly on March 22 to press for early implementation of its three demands.
The association took this decision at its executive meeting held under chairmanship of president Brahmananda Moharana.
The three demands include increase in basic salary and grade pay, six increments in first six years of Siksha Sahayaks and inclusion of those increments in the basic salary and regularization of Siksha Sahayks on completion of three years in job.
Among others, association secretary Bankim Chandra Sagar, Chakananda Kampa, Pradeep Jaal, Surendra Kumar Rout, Niroj Dasmohapatra, Sabir Ali Khan, Gopal Kishore Sen, Tulu Nayak, Fakir Mohan Samantaray and Gitashree Parija were present.
