Prez to attend Port Day at Paradip tomorrow

The Paradip Port is abuzz with excitement as President Droupadi Murmu is set to attend the Port Day and Boita Bandan Utsav celebrations on November 27.

This marks a historic moment as no sitting President has visited Paradip Port since its establishment on January 3, 1962. The significance of Paradip Port as a monument of ancient Kalinga BaliYatra has prompted the celebration of Port Day on Kartik Purnima Day annually since 1975.

Traditionally, the Chief Minister of Odisha used to attend the Port Day as the chief guest. The President will address the public, meet local fishermen.

Meticulous preparations have been made, including the arrangement of three helipads at strategic locations. One helipad is set near the Light House, another at Gopbandhu Stadium, and the third at Sector 21 Nehru Bengala. These preparations have reached the final stage, ensuring smooth and secure access during the President's visit.

As part of security measures, Paradip Bus Stand will be temporarily relocated to Shramik Bhavan. All buses bound for Paradip will make a temporary stop at Paradip Bus Station and then pass through Substation Street near Cabin Market and Shramik Bhavan in Madhuban.
