The Centre has sought the opinion from the State Government on inclusion of Dhenkanal and Angul under the Smart City programme. Official sources said the Rashtrapati Bhawan, in a letter to the State Chief Secretary on February 27, has sought his view in this regard. It may be mentioned that chairman of Nandini Satpathy Memorial Trust Suparno Satpathy, in a letter to President Pranab Mukherjee on January 10 this year, had requested him to include Dhenkanal and Angul under the Smart City project of the Centre.
