Press Club wants infrastructure

Since the demise of Brahmapur Press Club (BPC) president Jayabardhan Das in February, the club remained mostly defunct with no regular president elected in his place. Now, the club’s governing body at a meeting on Monday unanimously selected new office-bearers (acting) as an interim measure till regular office-bearers are elected.

The acting office-bearers include Biswanath Pattnaik (president), Rajiv loachan Panda (secretary), Narayan Mahankud (treasurer).The office-bearers paid courtesy visits to DIG of Police (Southern Range) Amitabh Thakur, SP Dr Sathak Sadangi, Sub-Collector NP Kalyan, Deputy Sub-Collector Ipsita Priyadarshani Mishra and BMC Mayor K Madhavi and urged them to provide infrastructure to the club such as 100 chairs, 10 executive chairs, water purifier, new electrification and renovation of the club building.
