The Prerana, a non-profit organisation spearheading the green movement in Odessa, has initiated Vision-2035 in order to make the State green capital of the nation as well as of the world.
Prerana president and former MlA Dillip Srichandan launched the mission by unveiling the Vision-2035 logo here.
“A Green Army Regiment will be formed comprising the students and youth. This regiment will aid the Government in plantation drives and afforestation activities," said Srichandan.
Under the vision, every year a person would be indentified for his green contributions to the society and would be awarded the ‘Green Man of the Year’ with a cash prize of Rs one lakh. Apart from this, five institutions would be awarded as Green Institutions, a hotel as Green hotel, an apartment as Green Apartment and a village as Green Village.
Ollywood actress Archita Sahoo, athlete Anuradha Biswal, environmentalist Biswamohan Pattanayak, film producer Prakash Srichandan, Corporator Nabakishore Behera, Prerana secretary Chandrasekhar Pati and Pradeep Routray attended the logo launching ceremony.
