A preparatory meeting for celebration of the coming Durga Puja was held hereon Friday with IG Amitabh Thakur chairing the meeting. Ganjam district Collector Premachandra Choudhury and SP Ashis Singh were present.
Brahmapur Sub-Collector laxmikanta Sethi presented the report for the meeting. A total of 41 idols would be worshiped this year. The Puja committees have been requested not to use China clay for making the idols, he informed.
A single-window counter would be opened at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate office, and the Sub-Collector instructed the committees’ presidents to deposit their documents there. They were also instructed for not using chemicals in the idols.
A proposal was also given to instal CCTV cameras at the Puja pandals.
