In a shocking incident, a pregnant woman suffered a miscarriage after she was kicked by miscreants during a loot attempt at Dosia village under Pattamundai block in the district. Police have detained one person in connection with the incident and are on the lookout for the other accused involved. The matter came to light after the family members of the woman, who was seven-month pregnant, lodged a complaint at the Pattamundai police station. As per the complaint, the incident occurred at around 2 am on April 11 when the woman was in her house along with her two minor daughters.
Three miscreants barged into the house and looted cash and other valuables including gold and silver ornaments from the woman and then kicked her in the abdomen causing a miscarriage.
