In what can be termed as a sheer negligence, a pregnant woman became unconscious with injuries as a ceiling fan snapped over her head in the Ali Community Health Centre in Kendrapada district, the home turf of Health Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak.
According to official sources, Subhasmita Sahu (25) of Malapatana under the Ali police limits was sitting waiting for health checkup in the labour room of the CHC when the incident occurred. She suddenly fell on the ground and lost her consciousness apart from sustaining injuries on her forehead.
Medical Officer Dr Ajit Kumar Dash, who was in the labour room then, rushed to her soon and treated her with ice-pack.
