As per the direction of the Supreme Court, Mumbai model Preeti Bhatia, an accused in the AT Group chit fund scam, on Friday deposited Rs1,17,83,000 in the form of a draft at the Special Judicial Magistrate Court here.
The court on May 6 had asked her to deposit the amount within six weeks, only after which it may take up hearing of her bail petition. The CBI, which is probing into the chit fund scam, had mentioned in its chargesheet that Rs1,17,83,000 was diverted to Preeti’s accounts from the AT Group.
