The Urban Development Department is likely to submit a detailed report on allotment of plots and houses under the Discretionary Quota (DQ) made before 1995 to the Government in three months.
“As per the recommendation of the Special Taskforce on DQ, instructions have been given to serve showcause notices to 6,001 persons,” Urban Development Minister Pushpendra Singh Deo told the media.
He said the allotment would be cancelled if any violation of rules comes to the notice of the Government. Further investigation might be required in some cases, he added.
Singh Deo also said the files and documents pertaining to the faulty allotments would be handed over to the Vigilance department.
He also said instructions have been given to the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), the Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) and the Odisha State Housing Board (OSHB) to take similar action as per the recommendation of the Taskforce.
“I have asked Director, Estates, Ram Narayan Das and Secretaries of Urban Development and Finance Departments to take actions after the approval of files relating to the process for cancellation of allotments by the Chief Minister,” the Minister said.
