Former Government Chief Whip and Banki BJD MlA Pravat Tripathy surrendered his passport to the CBI on Wednesday. He was in the CBI office for nearly an hour and left around 5.30 pm.

The Odisha High Court on Tuesday, while granting interim bail to Tripathy till October 13, had set two conditions. First, he would surrender his passport to the CBI; and second, he would inform the agency in case he leaves the State.

Tripathy also reportedly submitted some other documents sought by the CBI, sources said. The MlA visited the CBI office here for the second time in the last fortnight. He had been grilled for a marathon six hours on his first visit on September 16 for his alleged involvement with chit fund company Artha Tatwa (AT) Group chief Pradeep Sethy.
