Prasad resigns as PCC chief

Published on:

In the wake of the dismal performance of the Congress in the Bijepur by-election with its candidate Pranay Sahu losing his deposit on Wednesday, PCC president Prasad Harichandan sent in his resignation to party national chief Rahul Gandhi owning “moral responsibility”.

Interestingly, Harichandan literally went hiding; and, though usually expected from the head of a party, did not give his reaction over the by-poll results and did not even customarily extend congratulation to the winning candidate.

He also refrained from picking up phone despite reporters’ repeated attempts.

The dissidents in the party have begun resuming their campaign to replace Harichandan as the State head to revive the party much ahead of the next general elections.
