Prasad blames self for Congress poll debacle

Pradesh Congress Committee president Prasad Harichandanon Tuesday owned responsibility for the party’s dismal performance in the panchayat polls.

“As the PCC head, I was entrusted with the responsibility to manage election affairs for the Congress. I own the responsibility for the party’s poor poll results published unofficially,” Harichanda told a Press conference after the final round of panchayat polls concluded.

He thanked all his party leaders, workers and supporters while advising them to keep fighting against the ‘corrupt’ and ‘inefficient’ BJD Government and the ‘black money user’ BJP.

“Both the BJP and the BJD spent huge amounts of black money in the polls. Helicopters carrying Union Ministers and neighouring Chief Ministers hovered over villages every day. The Congress could not do all this,” said Harichandan.

He informed that the PCC would submit a report on the panchayat poll results to the All India Congress Committee (AICC) soon.
