President Pranab Mukherjee cut short his two-day Odisha visit and returned to New Delhi on Friday night.
Mukherjee returned after being informed about the sudden illness of his wife who is in the national capital, sources said. The President was scheduled to attend two programmes, one at the National law University in Cuttack and another at the KIIT University in Bhubaneswar.
Mukherjee, who was at the Puri Raj Bhavan for the night’s stay, returned to Bhubaneswar by road to catch his special flight at the Biju Patnaik International Airport.
