Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Prasad Harichandan and MlAs Naba Kishore Das and Tara Prasad Bahinipati on Monday met party vice president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Monday.
The meeting assumed significance as there is a growing demand in the party to replace Opposition Chief Whip in the Assembly Tara Prasad Bahinipati.
Though Das is believed to be a strong contender for the post, MlA Prafulla Majhi’s name is doing the rounds.
What exactly transpired at the meeting was yet to be made public by the party.
Harichandan only said that they talked about the party affairs in the State.
On June 1, a closed-door meeting of the State Congress with sitting MlAs of the party had fuelled speculations that the meeting had been convened to discuss infighting in the party and the demand to replace Bahinipati.
