Union Minister of Petroleum and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday wrote a letter to Minister of State (IC) Power and New and Renewable Energy RK Singh seeking his personal intervention in expediting the Stage-3 expansion of Talcher Thermal Power Station (TTPS) in Odisha.
Later, Pradhan in a tweet said Singh assured his personal help in setting up a new power plant in Talcher subject to the necessary support by the Odisha Government.
In the letter to the Power Minister, Pradhan stated that, “ The project is very crucial for the livelihood of local populace and strengthening the local economy.
I also learnt that the Odisha Chief Minister had written a letter to you on March 22, 2021 seeking your intervention for addressing concerns related to the closure of TTPS.” “Keeping in view the need for ensuring sustained availability of low-cost and reliable power for rapid socio-economic development of Odisha and eastern India, I urge for your personal intervention in the matter,” Pradhan stated.
