State Chhatra Congress president Itish Pradhan and niakhunta.compropitiator Pradeep Pandey on Tuesday prayed the Civil Judge (Senior Division) here for speedy trial of the defamation suit filed against them and five TV channels by BJD leader and city Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena in connection with a sex video allegedly featuring him.
Both Pandey and Pradhan appeared before the court. Pradhan submitted his reply in the court responding the latter’s show-cause notice. During an earlier hearing, Pandey had submitted his reply.
Sources said that so far, out of the five TV channels named in the Mayor’s petition, three have submitted their replies. After coming out of the court, Pradhan and Pandey reiterated their demand for examination of the video in the Central Forensic laboratory.
