Former MP and Pradesh Congress working president Pradeep Majhi on Friday alleged that crores of rupees have been misappropriated through fake coupons, bank passbooks and ATM cards done in the names of poor farmers.
Addressing a farmers’ rally here, Majhi accused the district administration of shielding the corrupt officials who are involved in the huge corruption in buying paddy and creating fake papers in the names of ignorant farmers.
Majhi said Rs 150 crore has been embezzled in the district’s paddy market and brokers in mandis are involved in these fake transactions.
He demanded immediate action against all corrupt officials and bank staffs. He said corruption cannot be done without the tacit nexus between the Departments like Civil Supplies and bank and LAMP staffs.
