Bollywood beauty Prachi Desai is set to walk the ramp at the India Fashion Week london (IFWl) next month wearing an Odisha designer’s creation.
Sweta Parekh, known for her fashion house Dolliz Kasba, has created special pattachitra designs on designer dresses which would be exhibited in london.
Prachi Desai would wear Sweta’s creations during the show and might be the showstopper at the event. Sweta had earned accolades during the Bhubaneswar Fashion Week for experimenting with pattachitra designs on fabrics.
“At least 10 varieties of apparel with designs of peacock feather on Matka silk have been prepared. This apart, the traditional pattachitra painting on Western gown, saree, kurti, ghagra, choli, men’s shirt and sherwani have been beautifully done to give an Indo-Western feel.
The pattachitra art will not only go global but also let the world audience know about Odisha’s rich heritage and culture,” Sweta said.
The event organised by the Platinum Group would be held at Olympia london, Hammersmith Road from November 11. People from the British Asian community and the UK witness the annual event.
Notably, the Bhubaneswar-based designer had employed six artists from heritage crafts village Raghurajpur of Puri for the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence awardees
The designer also revealed that her label ‘Dolly Parekh’ has been changed to ‘Sweta Parekh’.
