BJD MLA of the Morada constituency in Mayurbhanj district and former Minister Prabin Chandra Bhanjadeo on Monday resignedfrom the party ahead of the elections.
Bhanjadeo quit the BJD as, sources said, he would not be re-nominated by the party to seek reelections. He sent his resignation letter to party president Naveen Patnaik.
Senior BJP leader Raj Kishore Das, who recently joined the BJD, is tipped as the BJD candidate for the Morada seat, sources said, adding that the party would announce his nomination shortly.
Bhanjadeo has not made it clear as to what would be his next political move.
