PPT Deputy Chairman N Vayapuri and FA and CAO SK Sahu told in a Press meet that as per the directives from the Ministry of Shipping, the PPT will organse the “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikash Sammelan” at Paradip and Rajnagar in Kndrapada on June 12 and 13 respectively.
The event is organised by the major ports across the nation to inform the public about the achievements and the future development plans of the Ministry of Shipping.
The PPT plays a vital role in the economic development of the country as well as the State. Major steel and power plants located in and around the State are sourcing their raw materials through PPT, which provides the lowest handling cost by improving the operational efficiency, besides developing the infrastructure. Also, projects like Multi Modal logistic Park, Industrial Park, Smart Port City and proposed Outer Harbour etc would be highlighted in the Sammelan.
The PPT will also showcase its success saga and achievements during the last three years. It is pertinent to inform that the PPT has been awarded by the Ministry of Shipping for best Performance among major ports in 2015-16 and for 2nd Highest Growth in Traffic for the year 2016-17. Besides, the PPT has achieved Greentech Safety Award 2016 for outstanding achievement in safety management.
