The 10th annual general body meeting of the Port Pensioners' Association, Paradip (PPAP) would be held here on May 17, informed association general secretary Parsuram Mallick on Tuesday.

Mallick said discussions would be held on various problems of the retired employees, for which all pensioners of the Paradip Port Trust have been informed in writing.

The association, which was formed in the year 1989, has been continuing its dedicated efforts to promote the interests of the pensioners relating to pensioner benefits, health and welfare in the PPT office.

PPAP VP Baishnab Patnaik said the association is a common platform where the pensioners are able to raise their voices in a disciplined manner regarding their old age difficulties which are addressed by the port authorities and the Union Ministry of Shipping.

PPAP president PK Acharaya said pensioners come to the association’s office with their problems relating to receipt or non-receipt of pension, grant of pension and other matters, for which the association provides satisfactory service not only to its enrolled members but pensioners as a whole.
