The Paradip Port Trust (PPT) has undertaken various activities for improvement of environment. Under the Green India initiative and for environment protection, the PPT administration has initiated a noble plan to distribute 10,000 fruit-bearing saplings in the nearby villages of Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada districts.
To begin with, 1,000 saplings were distributed to the residents of Biswali village at a function held on Monday at the Biswali school premises on the occasion of the 70th Independence Day. PPT Chairman Rinkesh Roy planted saplings along with senior officials of the PPT and other important persons from the locality.
Roy also felicitated PPT Assistant Engineer Amresh Naresh Samanta for his outstanding contribution in undertaking plantation programmes to create a green environment in the village. BB High School Head Master Prabir Kumar Rout and Biswali UP School Head Master Saroj Mishra were also felicitated on the occasion.
