The Paradip Port Trust (PPT) added yet another feather to its cap by handling a record 2,960 loaded trucks which entered the port in a single day.
Notably, under the guidance of PPT Chairman Rinkesh Roy, the entry and exit of trucks have been streamlined significantly.
Previously, the trucks had to make a 50-km beeline to enter into the port’s prohibited area, thus congesting the NH at some points. Roy conceptualised a quick response code system through mobile scanning and implemented it in the port, which has recently become the No. 1 Port in cargo handling in Q1 of this fiscal.
This is for the first time among Indian Major Ports the QR code system has been implemented.
