The Mechanical Coal Handling Plant (MCHP) of the Paradip Port Trust (PPT) loaded 2.06 million tonnes of thermal coal in October 2015 at the coal berths one and two into the ships carrying coal to power plants in various States. This is an all-time record for the port.
Similarly, highest quantity of chrome ore was loaded in a ship in 24 hours, surpassing the port’s previous best in chrome ore loading of 14,740 MT loaded in a vessel six years back on October 29.
The exporters of the cargo were Kolkata-based Misrilal Mines ltd and the stevedores were Satish Chandra Das and Co.
The shipping agent of the vessel was the Evready Shipping Private ltd.
