The Posco Pratirodh Sangram Samiti (PPSS) along with other anti-Posco organisations will protest forcible acquisition of land at Govindpur village as they fear the acquisition process which was halted for last three days would resume from Monday.
In a Press release, the PPSS appealed to all political parties, mass movements, activists, intellectuals, students, friends and well-wishers to join them at Govindpur on Monday for peaceful and democratic protests against forcible acquisition of land. The PPSS claimed that the local people are determined to continue their struggle till Posco leaves the area.
PPSS spokesperson Prashant Paikray alleged that Posco and the State Government have launched a misinformation campaign against their struggle. The district Collector is making misleading statements regarding land acquisition, he added.
“We are encouraged to learn that all opposition political parties in the State are going to hold a dharna in front of the Governor’s House in the capital on May 3 that would strengthen our struggle,” Paikray said.
