The Nikhila Odisha Bidyut Sharmik Mahasangha has called for an agitation on March 19 in front of the Cesu office here to protest the apathetic attitude of the authorities towards the employees.
“Most of the Cesu employees are deprived of basic facilities though they are working dedicatedly. Though the meter reader are visiting village to village in rural areas and ward to ward in urban areas and collecting bills they are deprived of basic minimum facilities,” said Mahasangha general secretary Akshaya Kumar Tripathy.
“We have been demanding disbursal of the arrears of the employees and appointment of security guards working in operation maintenance department as helpers since a long, but to no avail,” he said.
