A poverty-stricken couple was found hanging at their home at Jugala village under the Korei police station in Jajpur district on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Santanu Jena and his wife Sabita.
As per the family members of the deceased, an altercation had ensued between them on late Friday night after they had.
Subsequently, though the couple went to sleep, both were found hanging in the morning.
While Sabita was spotted hanging from the ceiling of her room by a saree, Santanu’s body was found hanging from a tree near his residence.
Getting information, the Korei police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies for postmortem.
“Though from the preliminary probe it appears that the couple committed suicide over domestic feud, we are investigating the case from all angles.” police said.
