With the smooth flow of potato stocks, the State Government on Monday warned stringent action against the retailers who would sell the tuber at more than Rs20 a kg. “There is no potato scarcity in the State any more. Due to the smooth flow of potato since last three consecutive days, potato is now available in all areas. The wholesale rate of the tuber now stands at Rs16 per kg and it will be available at retail outlets at only Rs20 a kg. If any retailer sells the vegetable at more than the prescribed price of Rs20, strict legal action will be taken against them,” said Food and Civil Supplies Secretary Madhusudan Padhi.
