Even as most of the accused in the Chhatrapur Councillor laxmidatta Pradhan murder case have been arrested yet politics over the case has turned uglier with some people putting up posters at different places here accusing BJP Ganjam in-charge Golak Mohapatra of protecting the accused.
The police have arrested all accused barring four in the case.
The police have named BJP district secretary Krushna Nayak as the main accused and already interrogated Mohapatra over his alleged complicity in helping Nayak to hide outside the State.
While the police have already expedited the investigation, putting up of posters in the name of Mohapatra reflects cheap politics being played by certain people under the name Ganjam Zilla Buddhijibi Manch, said some locals.
They called upon those people to give attention to various problems like water scarcity, unavailability of facilities at the MKCG Medical College Hospital and real beneficiaries not getting IAY houses and ration cards being faced by denizens for years now.
BJP district president Kanhu Charan Pati said, “I have not known about the existence of an organisation like Ganjam Zilla Buddhijibi Manch during my 30 years of political life. Opponent political party leaders are playing cheap politics. The BJP will oppose it.”
