The bipartite wage negotiation committee meeting for all India port and dock workers was held at the Paradip Port Trust (PPT) Guest House in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
The meeting was presided over by Chairman of Visakhapatnam Port Trust and Chairman of Indian Ports Association A Kallam.
PPT Chairman SS Mishra welcomed the members of the committee and participated in the deliberations. He expressed his happiness for giving the PPT the opportunity to hold the meeting.
The meeting was attended by officials representing the managements and members of five workers’ federations. Discussions were held regarding wage revision of the employees of the Major Ports and dock workers which is retrospectively due from January 1, 2012. The meeting will continue on Tuesday.
