The Bahuda Yatra of lord Jagannath, lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra was held here with traditional fervour and gaiety. It was organized by the Jagannath Samaj and the Paradip Port Trust (PPT).
After the deities were brought up on the chariot in Pahandi from the Mausimaa temple, Paradip Port Trust (PPT) chairman Sudhanshu Sekhara Mishra conducted the Chhera Panhara and other rituals. The pulling of chariot started at 3.15 pm and it reached the main Jagannath temple at around 5.30 pm.
Thousands of devotees had gathered to pull the chariot amidst chanting of Jai Jagannath, Haribola and Hulahuli. The local police and traffic police took special steps to control the crowd during the ceremony.
