Port awareness drive for school kids at Paradip

How the Paradip Port administration is ensuring security of the port through the International Ships and Port Security (ISPS) Code; how a proposed 20-MW solar power plant would serve the ‘Go Green’ endeavour for the locality; how the local slum dwellers would be benefited by the upcoming Port Industrial Smart City ProjectIJ

These were a flurry of questions thrown at the PPT officials by the local Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir students on Wednesday. Around 100 schoolchildren participated in an interactive session with the port officials in the third of a series of such a programme at the Jayadev Sadan.

Further, an informative audiovisual clip on the port activities was screened for the children. After this, the Public Relations wing of the PPT organised a ‘Port Visit’ campaign for the students, who accompanied by their faculty visited the port. The students got glimpses of ships, cranes and other harbour areas. The children returned with excitement and expressed that their first visit was very knowledgeable and informative.

The PPT has already chalked out a schedule of ‘Port Visit’ for other schoolchildren from the locality.
