Vatican Pope’s representative Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio visited a few churches of Kandhamal district on Thursday. He is scheduled to attend a thanksgiving Eucharist (religious ceremony) on the occasion of the 75th foundation day of a church in Raikia.
Pennacchio came from Delhi on Wednesday to preside over a special function of the Raikia church which was established by a few missionaries during the pre-Independence era. Among others, Rev Msgr Mauro lalli, Archbishop of Delhi Anil Joseph and Archbishops of Bhubaneswar and Baleswar went with Pennacchio to attend the ceremony.
