The Government has decided to act tough with the schools and the teachers for their poor show in the High School Certificate (HSC) examinations, the results of which were announced on Wednesday.
“The teachers of the schools having poor HSC results will be transferred while show-cause notices would be served on the aided schools which have come up with dismal results,” said School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra, adding that his department would review the HSC results.
“Besides, the department will form a committee to ascertain the reason for poor results in nine districts, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Subarnapur and Malkangiri, where the pass percentage is less than the State average of 82.56. It has also been decided to review the performance of each high school in the State,” Mishra informed.
He also said that there have been zero results in 14 high schools, while on the contrary as many as 577 high schools have achieved 100-per cent results.
