Chief Secretary AP Padhi on Tuesday directed the district Collectors, Energy Department district officers and engineers to finish all preparatory work by September for the “Ama Ghare lED” programme to be launched in October.

In a videoconference at the State Secretariat, Energy Commissioner-cum-Secretary Hemant Kumar Sharma spoke about the implementation of the programme to the Collectors.

Sharma informed that as per the decision of the State Government, the Food Security Act beneficiary families would be provided four lED bulbs free of cost through OPTCl which would have a three years’ warranty. The bulbs would be available at the PDS retail shops and the retail shops would be provided services, he added.

As the programme is meant for providing electricity to poor households in the State and energy conservation, Development Commissioner R Balakrishnan advised the field-level officials to complete the process in the stipulated period.
