The SGS sampling plant was established in a tiny size for sampling and analysis of iron ore and other raw materials at Kumarjoda near Joda town, 8 years back. With the passage of time, it went through extension activities and by now, has emerged to be a major sound and air pollution creating unit here.
The local people have demanded that the plant be shifted to somewhere else for their peaceful living.
Sources close to Reena Munda , Councillor of ward no -11 and Peasanta Apat, reveal that the wastage due to operation of the chemical laboratory is piling up here and there on the road side for which there is every chance of accident there. In this regard, around 400 local people had submitted a complaint but so far no action has been taken. Meanwhile, the locals have threatened to go for agitation, f the administration does not redress their problem.
