Veteran politician and former MlA Arun Dey on Saturday alleged that the law and order situation in Baleswar district has fast deteriorated in the recent time. At a Press conference, he expressing his deep concern over the increase of crimes in the district demanded transfer of the Superintendent of Police.
He alleged that a large number of tainted police officers have been made in-charge of prized police stations of the district, as a result of which the criminals are moving scot free without any fear of police action. loot, snatching and motorbike theft have become order of the day due to the breakdown of the police machinery, he said.
He also alleged that some MlAs, including of the ruling BJD, having nexus with the criminals including those booked under the NSA or known history sheeters.
Dey further alleged that works under local Area Development (lAD) fund of the MlAs are being executed through criminals. He urged the district administration as well as the Government to take measures on these issues, or else he would take the issues to the street.
