Police to heighten security for Shahrukh Khan

The Commissionerate police on Saturday said adequate security measures would be taken during actor Shahrukh Khan’s visit to the State after the Kalinga Sena’s threat to throw ink on him.

Local outfit Kalinga Sena has threatened to throw ink on the actor for allegedly distorting facts of the history in his film ‘Ashoka’ that was released 17 years ago.

The outfit has also threatened to show him black flags on his arrival during the inauguration of the Men’s Hockey World cup at Kalinga Stadium here on November 27.

“We will take adequate security measures for the visit of Shahrukh Khan to the city,” said city DCP Anup Sahu.

Similarly, Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty said guidelines would be provided to the visiting teams for the Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup. Whether they visit any part of the city in a group or alone adequate security cover would be provided. They just have to inform their team’s manager.
