The Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court here on Friday allowed the Commissionerate Police to take arrested sex racket kingpin Sunil Meher on a four-day remand for interrogation.
The cops had prayed for a five day-custody. Meher was arrested by the Quick Action Team (QAT) of the Commissionerate Polcie in Kolkata on Thursday. The police would try to elicit information about his network through which he managed to run the sex racket, and how he brought foreign young women into the State as part of his sleaze business. Meanwhile, it was revealed from the preliminary investigation that Meher was running his sleaze business in the name of ‘paid girlfriend.’
Sources said that from the preliminary investigation it was revealed that Meher used to provide beautiful young women as ‘paid girlfriend’ to rich clients for one month. He was paying the young women Rs40,000-50,000 for one month.
Besides, Meher used to supply young women on 10-day contract for more than Rs2.5 lakh, the sources added.
