Mohapatra said he was attacked by the goons, as a result of which he became physically disabled and is still under treatment. He had lodged a complaint with the Khandagiri police on August 13 last year, but no action has been taken in the case so far.
later, Mohapatra filed a petition in the Odisha High Court regarding police inaction. The court after hearing the case on August 27 this year ordered the Commissionerate Police to ensure completion of investigation in the case within a period of two months, but the police have failed to arrest main accused Mohanty in connection with the case.
“More than a hundred of fraudsters have been arrested by the Crime Branch and the police, but the Commissionerate Police even failed to get any information about the whereabouts of the Sai Pragati CMD which is very unfortunate,” said Mohapatra.
He recently met Twin City Police Commissioner RP Sharma tp press for arrest of Mohanty. The commissioner assured him that the accused would be arrested soon. “I urge the police to arrest the main accused; otherwise the people of Mohanty may again attack me,” pleaded Mohapatra.
