Police still clueless on 3 harassing seniors

While the Commissionerate police are still in the dark about the BJB College student Ruchika Mohanty's suicide due to alleged ragging even after nine days of the incident, a woman psychologist visited the college hostel on Sunday and held discussions with the inmates to check their mental state.

“The students might have stress. I came here just to discuss the mental health of the students,” said the psychologist.

"We hope the students can express and share more information about the incident to the psychologist” said Additional DCP Prakash Pal.

However, police are yet to ascertain why and on what circumstances Ruchika, a Plus Three first year student of History (Hons), committed suicide.

Police are also clueless about the identities of the three seniors who allegedly forced the girl student to take such an extreme step.

Ruchika had mentioned about three seniors in her suicide note which was recovered from the spot.

Meanwhile, Ruchika’s mother continued her protest outside the college demanding arrest of the persons involved in the case. Demanding justice for her daughter, she said she would perform the 10th and 11th day rituals of Ruchika in front of the college.

“The probe has not made any progress. I want police to arrest the three seniors about whom my daughter had mentioned in her suicide letter.” said Ruchika’s mother.
