The Vigilance police on Friday caught Pramod Kumar Naik, Sub-Inspector of the Bantala police station in Angul district red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 6,000 from a person. Naik had demanded the money from the complainant for release of a motorcycle seized in a case registered earlier at the police station.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches were carried out on the residential Government quarter of Naik at Bantala and house at native village Sidhartha Nagar in Brahmapur.
