Trouble deepened for School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra’s son Debashis Patra as police on Friday prayed court to take him on remand to interrogate him in connection with two more cases.
Sources said that while one case is registered in the Ghasipura police station, the other is lodged in the Ramachandrapur police station.
Notably on Thursday, Debashis was sent to judicial custody after his bail petition was rejected by the District Judge Court.
He had been produced in court on the charge of assaulting one Satyabrata Jena of village Guhalia under the Ghasipura PS.
He was charged under Sections 147, 148, 427, 323, 294, 324, 325, 307 and 149 IPC and 3(1)(V)(S)SC and ST (PA). He had been nabbed from Tangi by the Keonjhar police and produced in court amid tight security. The next hearing of his case is scheduled for October 3.
