Police rubbishes allegation against Bothra

A day after a youth accused IPS officer Arun Bothra, head of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing into the murder of five-year-old girl Pari of Nayagarh district of offering him Rs 5 lakh to take blame in the case, the Odisha Police refuted the allegation on Friday.

“The team has been diligently working out clues. Large numbers of people have been examined in the process and significant progress has been made. The entire village has extended cooperation in the investigation.

However, such unfounded allegation by one person has been used to cast aspersions on the investigation agency. It may end up demotivating officers who are sincerely working to unearth the truth,” said the Odisha Police in a Press release.

Notably, a college student, Saroj Sethi, of Pari’s Jadupur village has levelled the serious allegation against Bothra.
