The police have issued posters to make people of the several areas in Malkangiri district aware about the illegal, violent activities of the Maoists in the region.
Police sources said that the posters are meant for motivating people to cooperate with security forces in the combing operations. The posters also seek to impress upon people that the Maoists are not following right paths and do not really want development of the tribals.
The police even informed the public through the posters that the Maoists collect money through extortion. The public should not give shelter to the Maoists, the posters appealed.
The posters were found in the areas of Chitrakonda, Balimela and Janibali Ghat in the district.
