The Commissionerate police has formed special squads and launched a massive manhunt to nab the Black Pulsar bike-borne miscreants, who spread a reign of terror in the city on Sunday night.

Three youths had slit six people on their faces and throats with knives without having any enmity with the victims on the Baramunda-Siripur Road. All the victims were rushed to the Capital Hospital here.

The criminals also looted valuables from passersby.

later, one of the miscreants was nabbed by the Saheed Nagar police from Rupali Square. He was identified as Capital law College student Amit Mahapatra.

With the two other accused still at large, Commissioner of Police YB Khurania said all the culprits have been identified and the cops are on their trail to nab them.

The two accused are Bharat Panda, an engineering college student, and Asish Behera, an employee of a private company, said Khurania.

While Amit is a resident of Goutam Nagar, Bharat and Asish are residents of laxmisagar. The police have lodged a case under Sections 394 and 506 of IPC based on the complaint of a victim, Sanjay Mahapatra, said police sources.

The incident has triggered shockwaves among the city residents. However, what is giving sleepless nights to the city cops is that a number of students have been found to be involved in various criminal activities in the State capital.
