The Commissionerate Police have summoned 12 students, accused of ragging juniors of the Forestry Department of the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), for deposition.
Commissioner of Police Dr RP Sharma said these students have been asked to appear before the police within seven days. Notices have been served to them on the basis of the complaints lodged by the parents of victim students.
“Some parents of the victim students have filed FIRs at the Khandagiri police station,” said Sharma on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the senior accused students have recorded their statements before the disciplinary committee of the OUAT.
Formal notices to rusticate five students who were directly involved in the ragging would be issued next week after the completion of recording of statements.
