‘When I left my daughter in the house of Prahallad Das (61), he had assured that he would give her education and marriage. But he proved otherwise, and after assaulting her sexually, he killed her. He should be punished. Since we are poor, we are deprived of justice.’ said the girl’s father Sethi.

Prahllad’s wife works in a Defence unit at Chandipur. It is alleged that the accused committed the crime finding alone in her house.

The police on the other hand said they had conducted the postmortem as well as polygraph test of the suspect on Monday.

‘The post mortem report doesn’t conclusively say about rape and murder. The polygraph test report is awaited. We are taking statements from other persons and collecting evidences. So far, we have not found anything substantial,’ Inspector-in-Charge of the Town police station Dillip Sahu said.
