Dabugaon police station Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) Subash Chandra Raiguru was suspended on Tuesday for allegedly mowing down maize crops of a farmer with a police vehicle at Gatiguda village under Umarkote police station in the district on August 4.
Raiguru had a land feud with a farmer Pintu Bisoi. The IIC asked the farmer to remove the encroachments from his land, which was adjacent to his.
However, when Bisoi did not pay heed to the warnings Raiguru along with some other officials bulldozed his crops.
The farmer, who had captured the incident on his cell phone, approached the Umerkote SDPO pleading justice. Even though the whole episode was caught in a mobile camera, the IIC had denied the allegation.
However, an inquiry was ordered into the incident by the district Superintendent of Police, which found the IIC guilty.
